Sopore, Jun 22 (KNO): With residents pressing for addressing their genuine demands for the last several days, inhabitants of Sopore town accused administration of failing to provide them basic amenities including electricity and potable water
Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), locals said they are continuously suffering because of lack of water, electricity and dilapidated roads.
Ashpeer residents, who were protesting against Jal Shakhti, PDD departments said they are power outages for many days amid the installation of smart meters.
They said that they have to cover long distance to collect water.
President Municipal Council Sopore, Musarat Kar told KNO that people of Sopore have been neglected and alleged the administration of failing to provide basic amenities to people.
“The Lieutenant Governor led administration is ignoring civic council adding to woes of people,” said Municipal Council President Musarat Kar.
“We have submitted a drainage project worth Rs 21 crores two years ago to the government. Until now, not a single penny has been received by this office. Similarly, under Amrut a 90 crore project was sent and it was curtailed to Rs 54 crores. But no amount has been received till now,” she alleged.
